Jaxson did something the other day that I can't stop thinking about, so I thought I would write it down so I don't for get about it. It was so funny to me.

When Jax wakes up from his nap, I always give him a little bowl of goldfish and some juice and let him sit on the couch and watch cartoons while I get dinner started. The other day I was in the kitchen and he was eating his snack on the couch and all the sudden he darts into the kitchen, grabs the hand broom and dustpan, and runs out. At first I didn't think anything of it, because he loves to play with them, then I realized he seemed to have a reason for needing them. I slowly walked out of the kitchen to see what he was up to. I found Jax desperately trying to sweep a pile of crushed goldfish out of the carpet and into the dustpan. Little stinker. I can totally see him spilling his goldfish and smiling as he stomped them into the rug, then thinking. "oh no, mom's going to be so mad!". So he did what he could to solve the problem. At least he tried to clean up after himself!

So I Don't Forget.

I feel bad after that last post. I feel like I was just complaining about Jaxson, so I wanted to do a little (big) update on him and how great of a little guy he is.

*He is FEARLESS! Like the picture above, he wanted to rock on the airplane without hands. He loves when I go really fast down the steep hills in the city while driving. After it is done he yells "AGAIN!!". He loves to play hard, be pushed fast on his tricycle, be thrown in the air, run fast, and play with ANY dog he sees (sometimes it's scary, like when he tried to play with a pitbull down at the beach the other day).

*He knows 50+ SIGNS. My favorites that he says right now are lobster, turtle and alligator.

*His favorite FOODS are "kickin" (chicken), "bean" (kidney beans), "hock gog" (hot dogs), and "bessies" (berries).

*He says "Hey baby!" to all kids he sees, and "Hey dude" to all adults.




*HIDE AND SEEK is one of his favorite games. If we are upstairs and we hear Danny coming up the stairs, he will look at me and whisper, "hide!". His favorite place to hide is under blankets, but if there aren't any blankets, he will just close his eyes really tight thinking we can't see him. Or, like it the set of pictures above, he will hide behind anything, even if it is see-through.

*He is very good at saying THANK YOU and PLEASE without being asked to. He says "thank you mama" about 80% of the time I give him something, without being reminded to say it. And always says "Peeze mama" when he wants something.

*He pretends to SNEEZE and says, "achoo!...whoa"

*He loves making ANIMAL sounds...cow, dog, bird, duck, cat, frog, pig, sheep...

*His favorite BOOK is an animal book and he knows all the names of the animals, even some of the weird ones.

*He can look at a FAMILY PICTURE and point out all the people and knows their names (Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and most of his cousins).

*His favorite TV SHOWS are "bob bob" (spongebob), "elmo", and "pablo" (backyardigans).



*He is my little SHADOW. Whatever I am doing he wants to do too. Where ever I am he wants to go too. It makes cooking or going to the bathroom a little difficult, but I know I will miss these days. Lately, every time I go upstairs, if he is playing down stairs he asks me, "go potty?". He always wants to "Hold you" especially when I am using the computer or going down stairs. He is so SMART!

*If he hears the BUS coming up the hill he runs to the window to watch it, and points out all the buses when we are out and about.

*When we put him to bed he wants to SING, "birdie" (whenever I hear the song of a bird), "beam" (sunbeam), "bus" (the wheels on the bus), "popping" (popcorn popping), "ABC".

*He is forming SENTENCES. Like, "Where did it go?" , "It's a airplane (or what ever the object is he is looking at)", "I want ___".

*His favorite toys are still CARS. He walks around holding his Lightening McQueen car all day.

*Every time we put him in his highchair and move it by the table he folds his arms to PRAY and bless the food. He remembers to pray better than Danny and I do sometimes. He ends the prayer with a loud "A-mem!"

*He asks me if we can COLOR all day long.

*If he gets hurt, everything is all better if I KISS it better. Sometimes he will hit his hand on something (like the couch) then come to me saying "owie" just so I will kiss it better. Then he will say, "It's akay" (it's okay) after I give him a big kiss. He also comes up to me multiple times a day and gives me a HUG AND KISS for no reason at all.

*He also knows and can say all the parts of his BODY. Head, eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, ears, hair, arm, hand, fingers, "bummy" (tummy), "bummy butt" (belly button), legs, knees, feet, and toes.

Time-Out...A Cry For Help

Jax has been spending a lot of time here lately, the time out corner. He is hitting like crazy! My only problem is, he isn't hitting when he gets mad (most of the time), he is hitting when he plays. I don't want him to think hitting is okay at any time though. Plus, half the time he is in time-out he just giggles. AGH! I want it to be a punishment. Today right after I set him down and reminded him why I was putting him in time out and walked away, he started saying "sossy mama, sossy momma" (sorry mama). He has figured out the drill now and thinks that when he says sorry I will get him up. We have tried facing the chair different directions and it seems to have the most effect on him when he can see us having fun or doing things while he is stuck in a chair. I also do the 1 min per year of age, but I feel like 1.5 min. isn't long enough to get the point across. Bottom line, time-out isn't working. Like right now, I just had to put him in time-out for hitting the TV and he is sticking both fingers up his nose trying to blow air out his nose at the same time, wait, now his is showing me his "bummy butt" (belly button)...Any suggestions on how to get him to stop hitting (and being SSSSOOOOO loud all the time if you have any suggestions for that too)?

We had a day this week that was 80+ degrees, so we went down to Baker Beach to show off our pasty white bodies. It was so warm that the sand was even hot! That NEVER happens!




SWEET NOTE FROM MY BOYS

I went out of town for a day last weekend for a girls night with some friends in Folsom. When I got home Danny and Jaxson had made me this cute sign. I love my boys!

Easter and a Bunch of Firsts

Easter was a great day! Not only did we get to spend a whole day remembering our Savior and spending time as a family, it was Jaxson's first day of Nursery!!! It was a day we have been counting down to for MONTHS! He was such a great sport, and walked in without blinking an eye. He stayed in the entire time and danced around during singing time. Hopefully it lasts!


In his Easter outfit ready to go to church!



We got home from church and gave Jaxson his Easter basket. He was so excited when he opened an egg to find candy!!

He put as many Cadburry mini eggs in his mouth as quickly he could...smart kid. They are my FAVORITE too!!

We got him a cow Easter basket since that is his favorite animal. Every time we color, the first thing he asks for me to draw is a cow. This is how he says "MOOOO!".



I fixed Easter dinner and it was the biggest meal I have ever prepared on my own. Roasted turkey breast with gravy, crescent rolls, funeral potatoes, green bean casserole, asparagus with hollandase sauce, deviled eggs, and strawberry shortcake for desert. We had Craig and his friend-girl :) Trisha over, and Craig's roommate Omeid. It was a beautiful day and a great Easter.

The weather has been AMAZING! On Saturday we went to the park to soak up the sun.

Life is Good.

Do you ever have one of those moments when you stop for a second and look around you and think, "you know, my life is pretty great."? Well I had one of those moments the other day and I wanted to write it down so that I would remember it.

Jaxson and I made our weekly run down south to hit up Target and Costco. The best part of that little venture is that there is a Wendy's only a few miles further down the road. After shopping, (Jax had been such a good boy) we drove down to the Wendy's that is near the airport. I got our food through the drive-thru (a major treat since there aren't any drive-thru's in the city) and we pulled over to eat our lunch.

Since we were right by the airport and Jaxson LOVES airplanes. I got him out to watch the airplanes fly over our heads. (This was that "moment" I was talking about). There we were watching the airplanes, or "airpaim's" as he calls them, fly over our heads, all the while I was teaching him how to dip his french fries in his frosty (the best way to eat Wendy's french fries). After the first few times experiencing the yummy goodness he would excitedly say, "mmm nummy!". As soon as he saw an airplane taking off he would point at it saying "it's a airpaim" over and over until it disappeared behind a nearby building. Then he would say "where'd it go?!" That process happened over and over until we ran out of frosty. I love how happy and smart Jaxson is. He really brings so much light and joy into my life. It was a great little mommy moment for me. Life is good.

P.S. I am way behind on blogging. Our home computer with all our pics decided that it was tired of working. Hopefully the problem will get fixed asap so I can catch up!

Our Last Spring Break EVER!

As this spring break was getting closer, Danny and I realized that this was our last spring break we will ever have! Then, it's all business (except, of course, when our kids are old enough to be in school and have their own spring break). In addition to Matt and Amy coming to see us, we also got to do a few more fun things. We wanted to have a little getaway but didn't have the time (or money) to go somewhere really elaborate. We decided to go to the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno (a.k.a. "The Armpit of the West"). We had been there once before while passing through, and thought it might be fun to go and do all the fun stuff the resort had to offer. Mostly, it was close and cheap.

We met up with 2 of our friends who were visiting family in Reno, and got to take advantage of the 24 hour bowling alley by going bowling at 2 am.

Since we were there on a week night, we got a really cool room for only $40 a night! Jaxson's favorite part was jumping from this ledge onto the bed.

We ate at a few of the restaurants there and they were all pretty yummy, I think Danny's favorite was the buffet!

We had a lot of fun playing at the arcade.

It was great, Jaxson couldn't tell the difference if the game was actually running. He would just pretend to drive, fly or ride without us needing to feed tokens into the game.

We are in a softball league and since I haven't EVER played softball, we decided we needed to spend some time practicing. The weather has been beautiful, which made it even more fun.

It was pretty fun throwing the ball around with the bay and Golden Gate Bridge as a backdrop.

If Danny was a professional baseball player, i would have this be his baseball card...hehe.

Then, we got to spend some time with Drew and Jordan. They came out here to see us, and so that Drew could meet with Dr. Y from UOP. Hopefully He and Jordan will be moving out here in a year!

It was fun driving around and seeing the sights. This is Mier Beach Lookout. It is the most amazing view of the coast.

We made our way to Stenson Beach too.

I was so lucky and got to have Jordan do my hair for me. I LOVE having a family member that does hair. Especially since she is so good at it! Thanks for making your way out to see us Drew and Jordan! We had so much fun with you guys.

We had a really great time this last week, the best part of it all was getting to spend a whole week and a half with Danny. It sure was hard on Monday when he had to go back to school. He is starting his LAST quarter of Dental School though! Whoo Hoo!!!! I am so proud of him and all he is accomplishing!
