Memorial Day Weekend & Watching Jax Grow

Jax is growing so fast. We just love watching him learn and play. It is so fun to watch him look around and take in everything around him. We went to Six Flags over Memorial Day weekend and had so much fun! It was the Marine World, so it was like Sea World plus HUGE roller coasters. We loved it.



They have lots of shows that they do during the day. The dolphin show was awesome. I felt bad for the people sitting in front of us though, because Jaxson loved it so much he was screaming the whole time (not mad screaming, it was this really loud yell he does when he's excited).



We lost track of time and missed the Killer Whale show, but we still got to see Shouka playing in his tank.



We called up our friends Brett and Nadine late Friday night and asked them if they wanted to go with us Saturday morning. We were so excited they are spontaneous like us and wanted to come. We sat Jaxson and Nate on this fence to take their picture and all the sudden they were surrounded by random strangers taking their picture. They didn't quite know what to think of it as you can see by their confused expressions.



Jaxson loved the butterfly exhibit. It was cute watching his little eyes try to follow all the butterflies flying everywhere.

We even got to meet Batman! Danny was jealous of him. :)



The tigers were AMAZING! Their trainers were in the cage with them and had them do some tricks for us. We even got to see two of the tigers get into a fight! The trainer had to jump in between them with a huge stick to break it up. It was crazy! They let people get so close to the cage, the tigers would come right up to the fence and were only like 4 feet away.



He thought they were cool.



This was the best part of the whole day. This is the walrus from the movie 50 First Dates, Jacco. The movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Anyway, he LOVED Jaxson! We would put Jax up to the window and he would just sit there and stare at him. He seriously stayed right there staring at Jaxson for like 15 minutes and would only leave him to go to the surface and take a breath. Jax would get really excited and pat the glass and the walrus would start clapping. It was so cool.



This is when Jacco was clapping. Jaxson made a famous friend!
...OK, I have to admit, we talked to the person working at the tank and apparently this walrus loves all babies and always does this when a baby is around his tank. I am just going to pretend that Jax is just special though and Jacco has never done that before.



The elephants were really cool too. I love how close we were able to get to all the animals there.


STARTING TO EXPLORE

Jaxson is learning how to get around and he's loving the freedom. He loves to explore and find things that he probably shouldn't be getting into.



He isn't crawling quite yet, but he will get up onto his knees and rock back and forth then drop down and do this silly little power army crawl. It's hard to tell from this picture, but it's really cute.

Yes

I have a hard time finding "diet treats" that are actually tasty. These, however, have won me over. 60 calories in 7 mini cakes. It usually takes twice that to satisfy my sweet tooth, but still, that's only 120 calories! I've tried the other flavors, but they don't quite do it for me. The Caramel Corn is by far the best. Give me a handful of these and a diet coke (my weakness), and I am good to go!

Mother's Day Weekend

Thanks to my awesome hubby, we had the best weekend ever! Saturday was a really nice day so we went across the bridge to Sausalito where it was even warmer and spent some good quality family time. I thought this picture of Jaxson was so funny, he rarely looks mad when we take pictures of him. There was a man trying to get him to smile for the picture and he was acting really weird, I don't think he liked it.

Sausalito is where Danny and I went the day after he proposed to me, so it was fun to go back now that we have Jaxson. It has an amazing view of the city.

While we were there we made a stop at the saltwater taffy shop. Jaxson loved the free samples.

Danny sure did a great job making my first mother's day a great one. He got up with Jaxson this morning so I could sleep in, then when I woke up he had set this cute little homemade menu by the bed. It was so cute how hard he worked on it, he even drew a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge on the front. He got me flowers and a card from him, then one from Jaxson also. It was so sweet, he helped Jaxson draw all over inside the card. I loved it.

I got cute new pants (thanks for letting me have them early honey)...

Then Danny made me a yummy dinner of Lemon Parmesan Salmon, tons of grilled veggies and of course Diet Coke...my favorite!

Then strawberries with homemade whipped cream for dessert.We ended the day with watching this past weeks CSI, one of our favorite shows.

I love being a mom so so much. It is what I have wanted all my life. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing little family. Thanks Danny and Jaxson for making today so wonderful. Also, Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's in my life, related or not, you are all amazing and I look up to all of you so much.


AND FINALLY...

Jax has been working hard these past few weeks getting his first two teeth. It was worth all the fussing...how cute are those little chompers?! :)

Good Intentions

We had really good intentions for a really fun day last Saturday, sadly it just wasn't what we hoped for.
Danny found out through a guy at his school that BYU was playing rugby down at Stanford this past weekend, and since Danny used to play, he really wanted to go. Especially when they won their game Friday night and were in the finals Saturday. I was excited to go and do something different, and figured we could head down to the outlets while we were down that direction. We looked up online that the game started at 1:00, perfect. Jaxson would just be ready to go down for his nap and would fall asleep in the car and be all rested up ready for the game. So off we went leaving us just enough time to park and walk to the stadium. Jaxson fell asleep in the car as planned, but that is probably the only thing that went as planned. We hit traffic on the way down, so we got there late. That was ok though because the guy at the ticket window told us that BYU actually didn't play until 3:00. We were really excited. We hung around waiting for the next game and come to find out, BYU didn't play at 3:00, they played at 5:00. We decided to try to hurry down to the outlets since there was only one store we wanted to go to. We realized we would be cutting it close and maybe miss the first half, but danny felt bad that we wouldn't be able to go to the outlets if we just hung around. We rushed down to Gilroy to find that the pants we wanted to get for Danny weren't even there. So we picked out a few shirts for Danny and Jaxson and tried to speed back to the game. By the time we got back to Stanford, there was only 10 minutes left in the game and BYU was getting spanked. I think it was like 35-0 or something. Danny ended up just running over to watch the last few minutes of the game while I fed Jaxson in the car. Not quite what we had in mind.

We didn't realize it would be so sunny and warm so we ended up spending 20 bucks on a really ugly adult sized hat for Jaxson. haha oh well...
