President Gordon B. Hinckley

Hearing about the death of our sweet prophet really made me so sad. I started thinking about all the wonderful things that he has done for our church and how his whole life was totally devoted to serving our Heavenly Father. Then, I thought about him and how happy he must be right now being with his wife again, and a warm feeling completely filled my heart. I love that by being sealed in the temple we are able to be with our loved ones even after this life is over.

His death made me think about my own life and the areas that I could be better or try harder. It really put mortal life into perspective for me. It got me thinking about the reasons why we are here on this earth. There are so many things that cloud our minds and busy our lives that we sometimes get distracted from thinking with an eternal perspective. I made a new commitment to myself to try even harder to devote myself to the gospel, serving others, and treating everyone I come in contact with with as much love and respect as I can. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father gives us such amazing people as President Hinckley to love and learn from.

A Wonderful "Surprise" Weekend

Last week Danny surprised me with a mini-vacation to Monterrey. It was so fun! It was the first time we went somewhere with just our little family.



Our hotel was so fun. It was right on the water and had a beautiful view!

Jaxson is the happiest baby ever!




We had so much fun with him.

Jaxson is such a visual baby so he loved watching all the fish.







He would sit there and make cooing noises and stare at all the fish. It was so dang cute!




This aquarium is one of my favorite places to visit.




I am having so much fun being a mom. I feel like I am finally doing what I am supposed to be doing.




I totally forgot we had this little chair for Jax until a few days ago. He loves sitting in it. You can usually tell he thinks he is such a big boy sitting up all by himself, though in this picture he looks a little freaked out.

Winter Break (well, some of it)

Let me start off by saying sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything. I know a lot of you look forward to seeing our little guy growing up. I have had really good intentions on taking a lot of pictures lately, but keep forgetting my camera everywhere we go. I am so sad I didn't get pictures all the fun things we did over our winter break.

We started off our break by going to a party with some of Danny's high school friends. It is a yearly tradition and is always lots of fun.


Danny has been friends with Mark since they were in Elementary. It was really fun for him to show off Jaxson.



Part of the tradition is a White Elephant gift exchange. This has to be one of the funniest gifts I have ever seen. One of Danny's friends did a rotation with a plastic surgeon while he was working on becoming a PA. As a good-bye gift they gave him this after it was replaced in a patient for some...om... bigger ones. Can you tell what it is?? :)



I got to get my teeth ZOOM whitened by Jared, Danny's bro. Thanks again Jared!!



Christmas Eve at the Theurer's. Danny's mom made all the grand kids blankets, then gave all the parents the "Safety Kids" CD's.


Jaxson's first Christmas.


Grandma Theurer gave Jax this football. It is so cool! It is the first toy he has shown interest in, maybe because it's the only thing he can hold onto so far.

After my parents gave us our gifts they handed us one last gift. We all opened them at the same time and saw that they were Nurf Guns. Immediately a massive Nurf Gun fight erupted. It lasted about 10 min and ended with the house in shambles and all of us having welts all over. Those things are lethal... but it was so much fun. Typical Christmas at the Baileys.
