A Fun and Festive Week

I love Halloween. I love that it seems to be a week long Holiday rather than just one day. We spent this last week doing so many fun festive things!



Becky and Luke came out last weekend to see us, and it was SO fun to have them here! We had lots of fun seeing all the sights. They ventured down to Half Moon Bay with us to go to another pumpkin patch and we sure had a good time. Luke was so excited to go on the train, it was the first thing he wanted to do when we got there. He was pretty excited, as you can see.



My little man had lots of fun roaming aimlessly around (he's loving the freedom of walking).



Jax loved having Luke here to help him pick on Danny. Thanks for coming out Becky and Luke! Come back soon!



A few days later we got together with some friends and carved our pumpkins. Again, Jax didn't want to get dirty, so I ended up doing all of it. Maybe next year he will be more into it.

Then on Halloween our "little stinker" got all dressed up...


...and we went down to Chestnut Street to do some Trick-or-Treating with some friends. All the employees of the stores dress up and pass out candy and balloons to the kids. It is really fun seeing all the cute costumes. I took Jaxson last year when he was only 3 weeks old. Man, time sure goes by quickly.

Only in San Francisco... This man, er, woman was a drag Dracula last year. It gets more and more interesting each year.



After Trick-or-Treating we went to Danny's school to have lunch. Everyone loved Jaxson's cute skunk costume, and Danny was happy to show off his cute boy.



Later that night we did some more Trick-or-Treating down in the Sea Cliff area with some friends. Sea Cliff is a neighborhood just down the road that has amazing homes. Robin Williams lives in that neighborhood, so we got to Trick-or-Treat at his house.

Jax was quick to figure out the Trick-or-Treating thing. I don't think he realized what all the stuff was that people were giving him, but he was all about it regardless.



Then, tonight we had our ward Halloween party. Danny and I got to dress up in our costumes. We had lots of fun planning them out this year. I think this may end up being our fall-back costumes in the years to come.

Jaxson had his first sucker tonight. He chomping on that thing like it was the best thing he had ever had in his life, and FLIPPED out when we tried to take it away. I should probably give him sugar a little more often.
It was such a fun week! I know each year is going to be more and more fun as Jaxson starts to understand it more. Happy Halloween!!!

Half Moon Bay

Fall is such an awesome time of year. I love the crisp air, the beautiful colorful trees, and the anticipation of the Holiday's. This last weekend we went down to half moon bay with some of our friends to go the the Fall Festival they have down there every year.



It was PACKED! I couldn't believe how many people show up for this.



There was a parade, pie eating contest, pancake breakfast, kids activity area, a giant pumpkin weighing over 1500 lbs, and tons of booths selling anything from paintings to crazy hats.

After the festival, we went to a near by pumpkin patch to get away from the crowd and pick out some pumpkins for ourselves.

The pumpkins soon became a jungle gym for Jaxson.



I realized it is impossible to get three little boys to look at the camera at the same time. This is the closest we got of them riding in the wagon. Nate's face is priceless.



This is a skill Danny has learned from P90X. He is becoming quite the yoga master. :)

Jaxson only got a little bit dirty. Boys will be boys, no matter how young they are.

Nike Women's Marathon

For the last 10 weeks I have been training my butt off to run the Nike Women's Half Marathon. It was my first half marathon and the first thing I have trained for since before I was pregnant with Jaxson. I used to run all the time and LOVED it so much. It has been fun to rekindle my love for it. :) I got to the point in training where I knew I had the endurance to run it, but I would still push myself harder and harder each run so I knew I would do my personal best in the race. Then, as luck would have it, last Friday (9 days before the race) I hurt my knee. After 3 days of it being almost twice the size it normally is, Danny strongly encouraged (made) me go to the ER and have it checked out to make sure that running my race wouldn't hurt it more or permanently. When I saw the doctor in the Emergency Room and told him how I had hurt it, he immediately said, "you tore your meniscus". After examining it, he decided it was probably the medial meniscus in my knee and told me that if I ran my race I would make it worse, possible blow out my whole knee. We won't find out if that is for sure the problem until I get my MRI, but the bottom line is I couldn't run my race. After talking to my friends I have been training with, they convinced me to just jump in at the last .25 mile so I could at least cross the finish line and get my Tiffany's Necklace and t-shirt. I felt a little guilty, but I did train my butt off these past few months, I feel like I deserve it! So, I joined in with Megan and Nadine right before the home stretch and ran with them to the finish line. They did so awesome, I wish I could have been there for the whole thing with them. We decided that we will all come back to SF and do this every year to help keep in touch with each other after our husbands all graduate, so I guess there's always next year!

Break and a Birthday

It was Danny's fall break 2 weeks ago (I know, I am behind in blogging AGAIN). We stayed around here for break for the first time and it was really nice. First, we went to the Jelly Belly Factory with our friends Brett, Nadine, Ki and Nate. It was fun going on the tour and learning how Jelly Belly Beans are made and watching Danny and Brett eat gross flavored jelly beans (skunk spray, baby wipe, dirt, vomit...) blah!!

The next day we made a quick trip down to Monterrey to go to the aquarium with our friends the Hinkley's and the Baker's. We love going there, it's worth the drive!

We have been a few times, and every time Jaxson has been more and more interested in the fish. It is so fun watching him learn and grow.

We got to feed the sting rays. If you look closely at our faces, we were both a little nervous.

He also loved touching all the starfish, seaweed, and sea cucumbers. It was a great day, and ended with eating at one of our favorite restaurants, BJ's. We seem to only eat at loud places now that we have a loud baby.

Then, Danny's parents came into town to celebrate Jaxson's birthday.

The night before his birthday, Danny and I put up birthday decorations for Jaxson. The next morning when we got Jax out of bed and brought him downstairs, he looked around our apartment at the balloons and decorations and kept saying "OH WOW! OH WOW!" over and over. It was so cute.


He got pretty good at tearing the paper off his presents and got really excited at each different gift.

He loved it so much and was dancing and laughing while Grandpa opened it for him.

He also got his big boy forward facing car seat! He loves being able to see around when we drive.

On Jaxson's birthday we went down to Chrissy Field to have a picnic and play catch with grandma and grandpa. It started off cloudy and windy, but it cleared up and we had a nice time.

The following week we had Jaxson's party and it was lots of fun. Danny frosted Jaxson's cakes so that they were set up like a real game. I would have just stuck the players all over, he was sure to set it up the way it's supposed to be.

It was a football party so we had lots of football food like chips and salsa, meatballs, hot wings, cheetos, cream puffs, veggie trays, cookies, candy... stuff like that. It was yummy.

This picture looks like he enjoyed his cake, but he didn't. He hated having the frosting on his fingers and wouldn't even try the cake. Danny liked the cake though, as you can tell by the frosting on his teeth.
