Jax Signing

Since we have 2 deaf family members, Danny and I think it is important for Jaxson to learn sign. Even though some of the words are not perfect, he is doing really good. Here are a few of the words he can say so far. He wouldn't do all the words he knows (cheese, milk, where, frog, and apple), but Lindsey and Shari, this is for you. (So Lindz and Shari will know what he is saying since he doesn't sign them perfectly clear in his baby sign, the first one he is signing; more, please, hat, then I tell him to say dad but he signs mom, then dog, then he blows a kiss.)

Guilty Pleasure

I have a confession.

I eat these bad boys for breakfast almost every day. I am sure most people find this gross, immature, or whatever, but I LOVE them! I try not to like them so much, but they are just so tasty. I have come across a problem though. Yesterday, Danny and I were about to watch a movie when he asked me if I wanted a treat. After I declined, he slyly offered me a Pop-Tart knowing I couldn't resist. After hesitating, knowing I had already eaten 2 of the tasty pastries that morning, I asked how many calories were in them. He looked on the box and to my dismay, 210 cal in just one single tart!!! I couldn't believe it! Now what am I to do?? I can't knowingly consume 420 cal. of pure sugar every morning. I am so sad, so so sad.

"How Blessed the Day When the Lamb and the Lion..."

Church was very interesting today. We arrived at church to find that there was a rally against Prop 8 outside our ward building. Throughout the whole meeting we could hear the chanting and noise of the protesting crowd. For the closing hymn of sacrament meeting we sang " The Spirit of God". I about broke down on the last verse when we sang the words "How blessed the day when the lamb and the lion shall lie down together without any ire". It helped me understand even more what the pioneers went through, and why they would sing that song for strength. I can't wait for the day when we all can live together in peace as children of our Heavenly Father. It's so hard to live in a city where our church is receiving direct persecution. I need to be better about doing more to help people understand the Mormon church and our beliefs.

Arizona

Jaxson and I were able to go to Arizona this last week to meet baby Eli. He is almost exactly 1 year younger than Jax and he is such a sweetheart.


It was fun watching Jaxson around a newborn. He was really sweet with him. He kept trying to share everything with him (shoes, Binky's, sippy cups, toys...). Eli didn't really understand the concept of sharing yet though. Jax would get frustrated when Eli wouldn't hand him his stuff back.

Jax loves Sarah. He especially loves her since she took us to Cafe Rio.


We got to see Grandpa's new house and it is AMAZING! It is right on a lake and it is perfect for him. It makes me want to move to Arizona!


If you are of Bailey blood, this needs no explanation. If you are not, then this is the probably the oldest video game created. All of the grand kids have spent countless hours playing this game. Now I have a picture of my kid playing it too! I am going to tell my grandpa to give this to me in his will, I am sure someone else has already claimed it though.


We got to go by my grandma's grave. I can't believe it has been 5 months already.


Jax had fun with all my cousins kids. They all love "baby Jax".

We also got to spend some time with Grannie. We wish we got to see her more often.

After a week full of shopping, seeing family, shopping, eating out, and shopping we were worn out! Hopefully we make it back soon!
