Our Baby Boy

We were lucky enough to get a second ultrasound today to check on the progress of our little Jaxson and everything looks great! We were worried that he was going to be really big, but he is right on track, he's in the 49th percentile and weighs about 5 lbs 7 oz so far. Some of you also knew about the cyst they had found in his brain at our 18 week ultrasound, and we were excited and relieved to find out that it is gone. We didn't know this before, but I guess usually they go away before the baby is born. We were sure worried for a while though. If you look closely you can see a little smile on his face in the first picture.

He even has a little bit of hair floating around in there.

Point Bonita Lighthouse

This week Danny and I went across the Golden Gate Bridge and walked out to the Point Bonita Lighthouse. We can see it out our apartment window but haven't ever ventured out there. It was really pretty, but really windy. To get to the lighthouse you have to walk down a trail, throught a tunnel in the mountain, and across a suspension bridge that only two people can cross at a time, since it's pretty old and not very strong. There was a ranger out there telling people about it and we learned some cool stuff. They built the lighthouse like 100 years ago because it's really shallow pretty far out around the point entering the bay, so because of that and the fog that is always rolling through, a lot of the ships entering the bay would crash. We also learned that the bulb from the lighthouse is made of thousands of glass prisims. They don't make those types of bulbs anymore so they are always having to fix it.
After the lighthouse we went down to Fort Point to look around. That's where Danny proposed to me, and we hadn't ever been in the actual building there so it was really cool looking around for a minute.
I know I have said it before but I love our Saturday adventures. I'm glad we are taking advantage of all the cool things to see in this city.

A Tourist Weekend

This weekend our friends Chris and Melissa came into town. It was really fun having them here. They are the first of our friends from Utah to come visit. We spent the weekend doing lots of tourist stuff, even though since Melissa lived here before she seemed to know more things to do than we did.

One of the main things Melissa wanted to do while they were here is go to the Farmers Market. Danny and I hadn't ever been before so we all had a great time hanging out and tasting all the yummy fruit. I can't believe we have been missing out on that the whole time we have lived here!



I think that trying the Sour Dough and different types of Balsamic was the group favorite though.

My New Toy

For my birthday Danny and both of our families all pitched in to help get me the camera I have wanted for so long, the Cannon Rebel XTi. I am so so so excited about it! Plus, Patrick and Kera Hudson told us about this photo editing program we could download, which makes it even more fun taking pictures and messing around with them. I haven't taken too many pictures other than these few where I was just playing around. I can't wait to take more pictures with it though, especially of our little Jaxson once he gets here. Thanks to everyone who pitched in on this birthday gift for me. It's cooler than anything I ever thought I'd have!

Amy and Matt's Wedding

I was able to go to Utah for another week to go to Amy's wedding. I was really glad that I was able to be there. I had a ton of fun with friends and family, but I am glad to be home out of the heat!



Amy and I at her wedding dinner. There is a long story behind the Apple Beer. But, long story short, when we were all single, whenever we had a bad break-up or something happen we'd all get together and "drink off" the guy, but since we didn't drink real beer, we'd always just have lots of Apple Beer. Here we were drinking off Amy's single life. I don't think she's going to miss being single one bit!



She had a beautiful outdoor reception and luckily since there were so many trees and because of the angle of the building it wasn't too hot.

I flew in to Utah late Wednesday night and was busy with wedding stuff most of Thursday and all of Friday, but after that I was able to spend a lot of time with family. I love my little niece Brooklyn! This was taken at my brother and sister in law's new house. They get to move in today! I'm jealous they are out of their apartment. Congrats guys!



Even though it was SO HOT, one thing I really miss about Utah summers are the huge puffy clouds that always seem to form around the mountains. Pictures don't do it justice.
