We have been having so much fun lately! I decided to finally catch up with it all on here, so here goes LOTS of pics!
We finally made it to Cowabunga Bay and it was a BLAST!
Jaxson had fun going down the "big boy slides".
"Look mom! I'm holding my cute baby daddy!"
Jaxson went down this slide and the one in the next picture probably 75 times, not even exaggerating.
Now every night before bed, he wants us to tell him the Cowabunga Bay story in which I just re-cap our day at the water park. I think he liked it.
Sliver Lake/Twin Lakes
There is a cute little lake up Big Cottonwood canyon called Silver Lake. Danny, Rob and I took Jaxson up there to walk around it.
We decided to turn it into a little more of a workout and hiked up the mountain to Twin Lakes.
It ended up being a little more intense than we expected... Jax hiked about half way up, then Danny carried him the rest of the way. Not an easy task. It was so beautiful though, it was definitely worth it. One of my favorite things about summer is spending time in the mountains.
4th (3rd) of July
We watched the fireworks in Sandy this year with our friend Erik and his son Ty. We also got to visit with our friends Matt and Amy for a bit.

Jaxson is TERRIFIED of fireworks. I thought telling him in advance where we were going would give him time to work up the courage to watch them.
He finally calmed down when I let him hide under his blankets with his Binky. Once the fireworks started, he cried for about 15 seconds, then slooooowly started to peek out at them. By the end he was peeking out with one eye saying that the fireworks were pretty. Baby steps.
But as soon as the fireworks were over, he was back to his normal happy self!
4th (5th) of July Parade in Lewiston, ID
A few years ago we started going up to Lewiston, ID for their 4th of July parade and fireman's breakfast. It is super fun and mostly consists of 4H queens and local marching bands, it's really small town and we love it.
Jax is turning into a pretty good little photographer.
His favorite part was all the horses.
We did, however, have to wake up SUPER early to make it in time, so as soon as we got back in the car, our little one was out cold. I have never seen Jaxson sleep with his mouth open. He really was SO tired.

Birthday's
Danny's birthday. I made the best cake! I can't take the credit though, it's my friend Mindi's recipe. If you like strawberry shortcake, you HAVE to get this recipe from me. It's like strawberry shortcake x 1,000% yumminess.

Then it was my birthday. Danny surprised me with balloons and decorations. We had birthday cake for breakfast, because we then left for the weekend to go camping. (please excuse the outfit, it was post-workout)
Singing to me :)
We headed up to the Uintas to go camping. We found the best spot! Totally alone, little stream, tucked in a small canyon. WE LOVE CAMPING!
This was Shorty's first camping trip and she did awesome. It was also pretty comforting having her there knowing she could warn us if anything scary was close, like the huge buck eating the wild strawberries just feet from our tent, good dog!
Swimming in the stream.
We bought these jumbo marshmallow's and they looked really cool, but actually weren't too practical, stick to the normal size, these were just too big!
Growing up, my parents would always warm up water on the camping stove so we could take a bath, so we did it for Jaxson. He loved it.
Below: On our way home we stopped in Oakley at Polar King (BEST SHAKES, Mmmm), we did the same thing last year on our way home from a cabin trip, and I took some pictures to compare to see how much Jaxson has grown.
Playing With Old Friends
BBQ's
We didn't know they were going to have it though so we didn't bring a swimsuit. Jax just wore his shorts and was sporting major crack all evening.
Playing With Old Friends
We have been able to meet up with some old friends and play too. Jaxson and Haidyn had fun jumping on the trampoline.
well, I guess she got more of a mauling by Jax.

Our friends, the Pulver's, have this fun water slide we were able to play on.

On days that are too hot, we hit up the mall for train rides and the indoor playground.
Draper Days
Draper Days
Another highlight of summer every year is Draper Days. It goes all weekend and has performers, fun vendors, carnival rides, 5k run, fireworks, the whole 9. Collin Raye performed this year for FREE!
